Bhutan at the University of Sydney

The University of Sydney hosted two events celebrating Bhutan in 2023.

In November 2023 Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche the Head of the Khyentse Foundation visited the University of Sydney to acknowledge the Khyentse's Foundation of the Lynne Macready Senior Lecturer in Tibetan Buddhism, which is being taken up by Dr Flavio Geisshuesler and the Pakistan Gandhari Manuscript Project. Associate Professor Mark Allon, University of Sydney organised this wonderful event. 

In December 2023 the University of Sydney hosted the USYD - BHUTAN conference. Organised by Dr Bunty Avieson and Dr Gwendolyn Hyslop. A brilliant and inspiring conference the work of Bhutanese researchers who had studied in Australia and were currently in Australia. It was remarkable to see the research  work on science, technology, languages, the environment history and most recent analysis of the Bhutan diaspora in Australia.
